Danger! Danger! Danger! Squeeze plush ball toy primer can break causing safety issues recalled!

On August 22, 2024, Shawshank LEDz announced the recall of its Squeeze Ball Monster toys and Easter Squeezable toys. The toys will be sold exclusively at Ace Hardware stores nationwide from March through July 2024 for about $5.

The reason for the recall is that the liquid inside the squeeze ball toy and the glitter are combined in a thick film, and if the film breaks, the sparkling water can splash on the child’s face and body, posing an injury hazard. The company has received two reports of related incidents, including one involving a child who needed a medical professional to flush out his eyes to remove glitter.

The recalled monster squeezable toy model number is 702053 with UPC code 810447020536; The Easter squeezable toy model number is 768152 and the UPC code is 810067681520. Consumers should immediately stop using these toys and return them to the store where they were purchased for a full cash refund of $5. If consumers are unable to return the recalled product to the store, they can contact Shawshank to obtain a postage paid label and send the toy back for a full $5 check refund.
